March 2009

  • Fresh Norwegian Salmon is available this week.  The excellent colour, texture and taste will make this salmon an excellent addition to any menu or retail counter.  Be one of the first to introduce this to your customers today!
  • The West Coast Halibut season is now opening up.  You can expect fresh shipments to be arriving early next week.  As always the price will be high in the first couple of weeks but then stabling off more in to the season.
  • Atlantic Salmon demand is as high as ever!  With supply becoming limited over the next few months, the salmon market will remain very strong in pricing.  Remember, Canadian, Chilean, Scottish and Norwegian are all available fresh on a weekly basis.  Frozen substitutes are also available.  Contact us today to explore your options.
  • Whole Snapper and Grouper is available but supply is limited due to a combimation of seasonal conditions, quotas and restrictions currently in place.  Excellent alternatives for snapper are European Sea Bass and Bream which are farm raised in Greece and are excellent in quality.  Tilefish is a very close substitute for grouper and can make a nice replacement on your menu or product list.
  • Domestic Swordfish is available but supply at this time of the year is limited.  The quality is excellent and the colour is a nice pinkish colour as a result of the swordfish feeding on the cold water prawns.
  • Have you tried ESQU Atlantic Salmon yet?  Try this excellent tasting farm raised, atlantic salmon today.  The certified process and procedures of ESQU salmon truly makes it one of the best tasting salmon in the market today.
